"I can't make it to the event I booked, can I get a refund?"
Sorry once booked your event is nonrefundable, please plan accordingly. You can try to sell your ticket in our telegram channel.
"How do I pay?"
You can pay us via local banking paynow/paylah or international banking via wise or revolut to UEN to 202522828E. If you don't have any of these, it is very easy to sign up to Wise and can be done within 5 minutes
"I didn't receive the address for my class - what should I do?"
Our full address is automatically sent to all those who have signed up for the event via our website so please check your spam folder. If you have not received the email, most likely your booking did not go through properly. Check the page to make sure you have fully completed the booking or if you have already closed the page, try booking again.
If you have not received the email by 24hrs before the event, please reach out to us on Telegram @ThatRopePlace. Once the event has started, we may not be easily reachable, so please message us as soon as you can.
"What should I wear to a class or rope jam?"
We recommend that you wear something comfortable, so that you can easily sit on the floor and move around. Most people dress casually for rope jams and classes. During classes we ask that you remain fully clothed for everyone's comfort.
A word of warning: jute ropes tend to leave rope fluff on clothing which is more visible on black clothes.
"Can I pay by cash when I arrive?"
Since we need to plan our staffing based on the number of attendees, we can't hold your spot if you haven't booked and paid in advance. We may already be at capacity if you arrive without a booking, while we will do our best to squeeze you in, please book in advance to avoid disappointment.
"Do I need a partner to attend?"
No, you don't need a partner to attend most classes and events. Especially for Fundamentals (our absolute beginner class) you can come and meet people there. For our more advanced workshops, you can attend as an observer if you don't have a partner or don't meet the requirements for the class.
Private Bookings:
For private classes you should be prepared to practice on yourself if you don't have a partner to tie with.
"Is the price for private classes per person?"
No, the price is per class - it's designed for two people to attend the class together.
We can accommodate extra people on request but please note that there is a surcharge of $50 per person for 2-hour classes, $70 per person for 3-hour classes. These surcharges are due on booking.
"Will someone be available to tie me during a private class?"
If you would like to get tied by us, please book our Personalised Rope Experience instead.
"What is the difference between a private class and a personalised rope experience?"
If you would like to learn how to tie rope along with a friend or partner, then our private classes are a great way to learn at your own pace and based on your interests.
Our personalised rope experiences are a way for you to try being tied by one of our experienced instructors. For the best experience, please let us know if you have any preferences and requests in advance.
"For personalised rope experiences, is the price per person?"
Yes, usually we will only tie one person during these experiences. You are welcome to bring a friend to observe if you feel more comfortable.
Gendered Events:
"I saw your event is feminist/female owned, can I still attend as a man?"
Our ethos is about having equal respect for all genders, and the majority of our events are open for all genders. As long as you can have respect for everyone, you are welcome to attend. We do have a few gender specific events like Tied Lads Club (men only) or Tied by Her (women only).
"Can I attend Tied Lads Club as a woman?"
This event is for male identifying people, if you do not identify as male please attend one of our other regular jams which are not gender specific.
This event is inclusive for trans men and masc leaning non-binary folks who may prefer to be
in male centric environments. If you are not sure whether you fit these criteria, you are welcome to check with us.
Please note that on occasion, one of our female staff may be in attendance but we will do our best to minimise this to maintain the ambience of the event.
