That Rope Place was founded by Rosa and Python back in 2019 in their living room. Since then, the community grew large enough to open a permanent space in central Singapore.

Now That Rope Place is proud to be run as a collective effort between Rosa, Python and their team. You can learn more about our team here!

Rosa - The Owner

Rosa is a rope bottom who began tying in 2019 as she wanted to help more female riggers develop in the community. She proudly describes herself as "a bottom who ties." As a bottom, she is expressive, vocal, and a passionate advocate for bottoming perspectives within rope education and community spaces. She also believes that some of the most healthy rope community spaces are run by bottoms.

As a top, her tying style is often adaptive and responsive, balancing comfort and challenge according to the needs of her partner. Those she ties often describe her as reassuring in demeanour and delightfully mean in application.

Pyth01 - Head of Rope Education

Python (Pyth01) is our most experienced instructor, with over a decade of experience tying and over 6 years teaching rope.

He is a rope top known for connective, intentional, and passionate tying. Having studied with a wide range of teachers, he takes a magpie approach to learning -keeping what works, discarding what doesn't, and continually refining his practice.

As an instructor, he emphasises that while technical skill is important, the experience of the person being tied matters even more. His teaching focuses on creating meaningful rope experiences rather than pursuing perfection for its own sake.

About Rosa and Python

Rosa Canina and Python are a married couple who have been exploring rope together since 2015 in London. They were regulars at Anatomie Studio until 2019 when they moved to Singapore.

Together, they run That Rope Place in Singapore, teaching workshops, hosting international instructors, organising jams and community events, and creating opportunities for people to explore rope in a welcoming environment. They also offer co-topping sessions, sharing their unique and collaborative energy with those interested in experiencing this 2 vs 1 dynamic.

Together they have taught and performed at Cats Downstairs in Taiwan, Kotori Studio in Bangkok, Rope Tea Time in Malaysia and more.

Jules - Co-owner

Jules is a friendly fledgling rigger who is still learning the ropes.

Summer - Head House Cat

If you've ever wondered who keeps That Rope Place running, the answer is Summer. She not only organises the back end operations, she has the impressive skill of organising us.

Summer is a self suspender and occasional rigger of friends who specializes in curated shenanigans and exploration. She loves to try new and sometimes borderline impossible feats with herself and sometimes with others. Her tying is creative and full of energy.

Bear - House Cat

Bear is a rope switch who joined the scene in 2025 as has quickly become a fixture at That Rope Place. He naturally become a house cat due to his unstoppably helpful nature.

Bear is always coming up with new ideas for events. He facilitates Tied Lads Club, our men's only jam and Pick Up Lines, our rope speed-dating style event. He also steps in to teach Fundamentals, our beginners class, from time to time.

Rabbit - House Cat

Rabbit is a rope switch who started rope in 2024. Rabbit finds rope grounding and meditative, a way to slow down, reconnect, and be fully present with the person in front of her.

In a world that often moves too quickly, rope becomes a quieter space where time softens and things are allowed to unfold naturally.

At the heart of her rope is a desire to give through tying and supporting others as they find their own expression in rope, and she finds meaning in watching it unfold over time.

She facilitates Tied By Her, our women's only jam and helps step in to teach Fundamentals, our beginners classes, from time to time.

Banana - House Cat (mostly stray)

Banana is our resident stray cat who comes and goes as she pleases. When she appears she is guaranteed to bring a lively energy to the studio and has been known to instigate various rope adventures.
