About the event

Do you have questions about the practice of rope but don't know how, where and who to get answers?

Join our Rope Bottoming roundtable and ask your burning questions! Facilitated by Rosa & Elleial, with special guest sweetnothing71. This will be a panel discussion where participants can share perspectives and personal experiences.

Do note that this is a discussion, not a lecture. Our participants and moderators won't know everything there is to know, but hopefully, through the sharing of experiences, you will be able to arrive at your own answers and benefit from the experience of the collective.

This is not a rope bottom exclusive event. We encourage rope tops to attend to better understand the position of rope bottoms to create more open and nuanced conversations.

The event will be conducted in two parts:

Consent & Negotiation
  • PRICK or RACK? When to use which?

  • Pick up play - what to look out for

  • Risk awareness - do you understand risk profiles?

  • Motivation, negotiation and goals - how to make it enjoyable for everyone involved?

  • Triggers and trauma response

  • Do you need aftercare? What does it consists of?

Anatomy & Injuries
  • Common injuries in rope

  • Ties associated with injuries in rope

  • The no-go zone (Dangerous or risky areas)

  • Compression or Impingement? How to tell them apart?

  • Check-ins and self-checks

  • Warning signs

  • Exit strategies

  • Recovery

About sweetnothing71

Not one for long introductions, sweetnothing71 is pulling herself out of hiatus to share some of her clinical knowledge with the rope community. She has dabbled in various rope positions since 2016 (Read: bottom, self-tie and top). In the vanilla world, she climbs when available after her professional life as a musculoskeletal therapist.
