POWER WITHIN: Exploring Your Inner Dominant & Inner Submissive

An embodied workshop exploring power, consent, and the archetypes of Dominance and Submission through the lens of BDSM philosophy.

We often think of dominance and submission as roles that exist only within kink. But what if they are also deeply human capacities that shape how we care for ourselves, pursue our desires, make decisions, receive support, set boundaries, and navigate relationships?

Power Within is an experiential workshop that invites participants to explore these archetypes not as identities to adopt, but as inner resources that already live within us.

Drawing from BDSM philosophy, artist pedagogy, consent work, guided embodiment, partner exercises, group dialogue, and reflective inquiry, participants will discover how conscious relationships with power can become a pathway toward greater agency, authenticity, and embodied freedom.

Throughout the workshop, we will explore questions such as:

• What is power, and what’s our relationship with power?

• How does BDSM redefine power through consent, trust, responsibility, and choice? and how can we apply these to our daily lives?

• What does healthy dominance and conscious submission feel like?

• How can these archetypes work together to help us move toward the lives we deeply desire?

WORKSHOP FLOW:

The workshop begins by establishing an embodied understanding of consent through practices that help participants recognize their own “yes,” “no,” and the many nuanced responses in between. 

From this foundation, we investigate power as a relational force before exploring the Dominant and Submissive archetypes through discussion, movement, visualization, voice work, journaling, and partnered exercises.

The final part of the day focuses on integration. Participants are invited to bring these inner archetypes into conversation, discovering how leadership and surrender can work together in service of a meaningful personal intention, creative project, relationship, or life transition.

WHO THIS IS FOR:

This workshop is designed for curious beginners, artists, energy workers, facilitators, members of healing communities, and people interested in BDSM as a relational practice work beyond a sexual practice. No prior experience with kink is necessary.

Rather than teaching participants how to become Dominant or submissive with others, this workshop offers a new way of understanding power within ourselves, revealing how conscious authority and intentional surrender can become complementary forces in living with greater clarity, integrity, and desire.
