About the event
Core Skills: Uplines — Bamboo, Rings & Lock-Offs
In this Core Skills session we’ll explore uplines, one of the essential building blocks for tying in suspension or elevated rope work.
Together we’ll look at how to create stable and efficient uplines using bamboo and ring anchors, and how different anchor types change the way tension and friction behave in the rope.
We’ll focus on practical techniques including:
Building clean uplines from both bamboo and ring hard points
Top Lock-offs and bottom lock-offs for securing tension
Managing rope efficiently while working above the body
Maintaining stability and safety while tying on an upline
This session is designed to help you feel more confident working with uplines and different suspension points.
We’ll take time to practice the mechanics slowly and clearly, so that the techniques feel reliable and repeatable. There will be a lot of drilling!
Suitable for anyone who already has basic rope handling knowledge and wants to take their first step into suspension.
Come curious and ready to experiment.
